In 2016, Enterprising Culture’s jury awarded SAM, a Canadian social media content management system, and Éditions Animées, a French Animated Colouring Book start-up. Sponsored by founding partner BNP Paribas, each winner received an all-inclusive start-up business trip (travel and accommodation up to $10,000) for one week of intensive immersion and commercialization activities.

"For our start-up, Éditions Animées, the Enterprising Culture Forum has been an extraordinary opportunity. As an artist working with a technology-oriented team (developer, 3D animator, sound studio), we were missing a key third link in the chain: the connection to the business world. We weren’t in touch with this world and we couldn’t make contact without this type of organization. It has also been a good exercise for us to take a close look at our past and to present our start-up, its projects, and its future goals in just a few slides. These slides changed my own perspective on our work and helped us launch ourselves into a new stage of development. Winning the Cultural Start-Up Award helped us get a solid footing in our business plan and strategic development and it helped us face issues that we hadn’t previously been aware of, with professionals on our side and with high-level support. Between fear and confidence, we are now moving on to a new step, thanks to Enterprising Culture."
